Media ETF

Media of course is a very wide concept as many TV broadcasters are included here as well as publishers of books and magazines. You will also run into some companies that are active in producing music and movies. All in all this media ETF is a bit of a hodgepodge.

Music and movies are a reasonable stable market but paper-printing definitely is a declining industry. Television on the other hand still has some growth potential in Europe, certainly if one is able to tap into the large market of paid content broadcasting.

That being said I do not regard this media ETF as one with a considerable growth path ahead of it. Especially in Europe growth forecasts are a bit modest.

Publishers of printed media are holding on to their once profitable assets but they forgot to develop a smart internet strategy which will be devastating to some players.
